More Massanutten Training (MMT)

In preparation for the MMT 100, I went over to our fitness center tonight and walked for a half hour on a 15% grade at 3.5 mph, then walked for another half hour on a 10% grade. It was amazing how much better the 2nd half of my workout felt even though I was still at a decent incline. This seems to be a great way to mentally trick the body and I'm hoping to gradually increase the intensity/duration of these workouts as I progress. I felt great though during & after my workout tonight, which is a good early sign of my leg strength.

I'm going to jump on the "dreadmill" this Saturday to walk. I refuse to run on that thing. I'm going to do exactly what you did. This method seems like a great prep tool for gaining walking strength for the 100. I'm also using it to force me NOT to run on Saturday and to taper to the 50K!

Wow Brian - that is a great workout...makes me want to see if I can do it on mine, but I think mine only goes to 12% incline.

Sounds like a Gombu repeat if I ever heard of one. And sounds like a GREAT way to do well at 100 training. You are going to appreciate all the groundwork you put in come race day.
