This evening my brother and I were sitting on my balcony after watching some basketball and we noticed a rabbit below us that seemed to be hanging out in the same spot and digging some sort of hole. It looked pretty tame so we headed downstairs and took this close photo of it. After seeing that it didn't move once we got close to it we knew that it must be protecting its babies. So, once it left the area I took a picture of its hole and after zooming in on the photo we indeed saw the early stages of a couple bunnies...
It was really neat to see something that is usually somewhat rare. Once the rabbit came back to its spot it proceeded to move around in a circle and scrape grass into its hole. Minutes later it began to rain pretty hard, so could it be that the rabbit was trying to protect its young in advance of the weather? I must say that sometimes it's the simple things in life like this that make us truly appreaciate the beauty of nature that is all around us.
